Report: Getafe ready to cash in on Nigerian star linked to Chelsea, Aston Villa and Newcastle

Spanish La Liga club Getafe are looking to cash in on Nigerian star Christantus Uche this month, amid interest from English Premier League clubs, Soccernet.ng reports.

The last two years have been phenomenal for Christantus, as he has experienced a significant rise. Just two years ago, he was playing in the lower tiers of Spanish football. But he is now a top player for La Liga side Getafe.

Christantus joined Getafe from AD Ceuta last summer in a deal worth €500,000, and he has become a regular for them, producing one goal in 21 appearances.

But despite his low output, the Nigerian midfielder who can also play as a striker has attracted a lot of interest from abroad. Soccernet.ng recently reported that some Premier League clubs like Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Aston Villa wanted to sign Christantus.

Now, in a new report, per Eldesmarque, Getafe are willing to let Christantus leave this month, provided they get a decent fee.

Geta Azulones want to sign some players this January, but the only way they can do that is by selling a player. As it is, Christantus is one of their hottest prospects.

Moreover, they will want to make a big profit by selling Christantus now. They could demand up to €25 million for the Nigerian. However, it is unlikely that any club would be willing to pay that fee due his low output.

With the transfer market open for the next three weeks, Christantus’ next decision is expected to be clear soon.
