Music Lady A’s Hillary Scott Reveals the Unique Ways Her 3 Daughters Showcase Their ‘Musical Gifts’ (Exclusive)

Lady A’s Hillary Scott can’t believe how talented her daughters are when it comes to music.

“All three of my girls, they have musical gifts,” Scott, 38, exclusively told Us Weekly when celebrating her new holiday song “Hard to Wait for Christmas” featuring her 11-year-old daughter, Eisele Kaye. “It’s interesting how they all express it differently.”

While her twins Betsy and Emory may only be six years old, they are already showing signs of musical abilities.

“Emory will get melodies in her head, and she’ll ask me, ‘Can we go around the corner and record this melody moment? I want to record it so I remember it,’” Scott recalled to Us. “Betsy loves to dance. … They love very different sounding music too.”

While Betsy loves everyone from the Descendants soundtrack to Stevie Nicks’ “Edge of Seventeen,” Emory loves when her mom plays Imagine Dragons on car rides to school.

As the oldest child, Eisele has had more opportunities to tour with Scott and Lady A over the years. It helped prepare her for the opportunity to perform “Hard to Wait for Christmas” at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry for an Opry Country Christmas on December 5.

“She’s in her musical theater era right now,” Scott said before the special performance. “We listen to the Hamilton soundtrack several times a week. We’re getting to go see it in New York. That’s kind of an early Christmas gift for you this year.”

This holiday season, Scott and Eisele are hoping to make the season bright with a special holiday song. Titled “Hard to Wait for Christmas,” the track aims to ignite Christmas cheer for all ages and reminisces on the many things that make the holiday season so special.

“We hope that this song just allows for moments — even if it’s just the 3 and a half minutes that they put this song on — where families can smile and laugh and be playful together,” Scott shared. “If I had a Christmas wish, that would be it. When this song is played, I hope that whoever you’re with, that y’all giggle and have fun and it’s playful in a season that can sometimes be very hard.”

As Scott continues to embrace the positive response to the song, she remains grateful for the support of her husband, Chris Tyrrell.

She also keeps faith in the “compass” of her family as they navigate the highs and lows of life all year long.

“We wake up Christmas morning, and the first thing we do is we read Luke 2 [scripture],” Scott shared. “Out of all the gifts that we receive, to our family, the greatest gift was the miracle that was born on Christmas. We just always pause and make sure that is where we begin each day and really it’s in the spirit of love and being light in the world and hoping that what we’re instilling in our children is that we go be that light to others.”
