The Linda Lindas combine with Hayley Williams on new single ‘Closer’.

The West Coast band shoot to viral attention with their wicked songwriting and anti-racist stance, with The Linda Lindas becoming an inspirational newgen punk phenomenon.

New album ‘Gotta Get Out’ lands on August 28th, with new single ‘Closer’ featuring an alt icon.

Paramore figure Hayley Williams is in her solo era, and the American artist sat down with CLASH last year for a cover interview. Rhapsodising about younger bands, Hayley explained that she caught The Linda Lindas during their firs visit to Nashville, her home city.

Appearing on new single ‘Closer’, Hayley adds something totally different to the mix, a song that interpolates Paramore’s prolific alt DNA from a fresh angle.

Steered by Bela Salazar and Lucia de la Garza before taking it to the full band, Hayley then stepped in to write the bridge – before they all went to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios together.

Bela and Lucia comment…

“‘Closer’ is about feeling like you’re losing control of time, and watching yourself grow older from afar. Lately, we’ve been realising how important it is to stay present, especially when our lives feel constantly in motion. It feels perfect that Hayley Williams was down to collaborate on this song with us, because we’ve been fans of her throughout so many of her different eras – and she’s seen us grow up over the last ten years! We’ll always be honoured that we got to write and get emo with the queen of emo herself.”

Tune in now.
