G&H bags £16m brace of M&E deals

Elliott Group has appointed MEP to deliver Affidea’s flagship medical centre at Wimbledon Quarter – the first private medical centre to be located in a UK retail destination.

Opening late 2026, the centre will provide private GP care, a minor injuries unit, advanced diagnostic imaging and specialist outpatient treatments.

G&H’s 60-strong team, including apprentices, will deliver a full MEP design and build package, with pipework prefabricated at its Leeds-based workshop.

Shaun Atkinson, fit out director at Elliott Group said: “It’s a fantastic project that will bring high-quality healthcare services closer to the local community and create a modern facility that people can access easily when they need it.

“Affidea has a clear vision for what this centre can offer, and we’re proud to be helping deliver it. We look forward to building a strong working relationship with G&H and the wider project team as the development progresses.”

HBC Construction, formerly Henry Boot Construction, has appointed G&H to deliver a complete MEP design and build for GenesisCare, the UK’s largest cancer care provider, at their pioneering new facility in Leeds.

A 55-strong team will install specialist MRI and PET-CT process chillers and associated pipework, medical gas systems, and critical electrical infrastructure including Isolated Power Supply (IPS) and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems to maintain continuity in the event of a power cut.

David Wilson, operations manager north at G&H said: “These are significant healthcare schemes and my team are looking forward to working with HBC Construction again.”

Paul Cuss, operations director south at G&H said: “We’re also pleased to be working with Elliott Group for the first time. Both this and the GenesisCare projects highlight the growing demand for high-quality, low-carbon building services in clinical environments.”

Lee Powell, managing director at HBC Construction said: “Our relationship with GenesisCare has allowed us to understand their key priorities and develop an accelerated programme for timely installation of specialist equipment. We look forward to working with G&H in our delivery of this pioneering research centre.”

G&H has successfully delivered numerous healthcare MEP projects over the past decade and is currently delivering two decarbonisation schemes at Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham and Hereford County Hospital, as well as collaborating with Morgan Sindall Construction on Harrogate District Hospital.
