Super Eagles midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi has addressed speculation surrounding his future at Olympique Marseille amid reports linking him with an exit this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 22-year-old only moved to France during the winter transfer window but has already been linked with a possible exit just a few months later, as interest in his services continues to grow ahead of the new season.

Nnadi enjoyed an impressive spell at Zulte Waregem but initially found life difficult at Marseille, where he was limited to only a few minutes during his first months at the club. However, the fortunes of the Nigerian midfielder changed towards the end of the campaign as injuries to several first-team players opened up a pathway into the squad.

He seized the opportunity, featuring in each of Marseille’s final four Ligue 1 matches of the season and delivered impressive displays in those matches.

Despite that strong finish to the campaign, Marseille’s financial difficulties have cast doubt over his long-term future at the club. Reports of a possible managerial change have also added further uncertainty, with speculation suggesting he could leave during the summer transfer window.

Soccer Nnadi reveals stance on Marseille future

According to Le 10 Sport, Super Eagles midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi has no plans to leave Marseille this summer and is fully committed to fighting for his place while aiming to play a bigger role next season.

The Nigerian international is under contract until 2030 and remains determined to establish himself as an important player at the club.

Nnadi had earlier spoken about his desire to remain at Marseille during an interview in May, despite attracting interest from multiple Premier League clubs.

“I feel good, I play, so that’s the most important thing. My future? I am happy to be here. I am grateful for every opportunity I can have. As a player, I think it’s really nice to play at the Velodrome. I want to do it as much as possible”, Nnadi had revealed.

“I don’t know my future, but I want to stay and prove that I deserve to be here. I arrived at the most difficult time. I needed time to adapt. I seized the opportunity when it presented itself.”

Soccer What does this mean for the Super Eagles midfielder?

While Nnadi has made his intentions clear by expressing his desire to remain at Marseille, the final decision is not entirely in his hands and that is where the situation becomes more complicated.

The French club are currently dealing with financial challenges and are expected to reduce their wage bill, which would significantly influence their transfer plans this summer.

Marseille also need to sanction player sales to balance their finances and comply with financial regulations to the risk of further sanctions. Although Nnadi only joined the club a few months ago, he realistically falls into the category of players the club could consider selling, especially if they receive an attractive offer from the interested clubs.

However, there are also strong reasons why Marseille could decide to keep him. The Super Eagles midfielder is only 22 and ended last season on a positive note after forcing his way into the team and could serve as a long-term option for the club.

For now, Nnadi’s position is clear. He wants to stay at Marseille and continue his development, although things could change quickly with the transfer window still wide open.
