Galatasaray vice president Abdullah Kavukcu has addressed the growing speculation surrounding the future of Victor Osimhen at the club, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigerian forward has once again become one of the major talking points ahead of the summer transfer window, with uncertainty over his long-term future at the Turkish champions.

Before leaving Napoli in 2024, Osimhen attracted interest from several top European clubs and even came close to joining Premier League side Chelsea before the move reportedly collapsed over personal terms.

The 27-year-old also turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia before eventually joining Galatasaray on loan in 2024. The Cimbom later completed a permanent transfer worth €75 million, making Osimhen the most expensive signing in Turkish football history, although speculations over his future has continued.

Since arriving in Istanbul, Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has maintained his reputation as one of Europe’s most prolific forwards. The former Napoli star has scored 59 goals in 74 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray, including 22 this season.

His performances have continued to attract interest from several top clubs across Europe, including the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona, while Galatasaray are reportedly holding out for a fee in the region of €150 million.

However, vice president Abdullah Kavukcu has revealed that no decision has been made regarding the striker’s future and admitted he personally would not want to sell him.

“Would I sell Osimhen for €150 million? Speaking as Abdullah Kavukcu, I would not sell him, but the final decision belongs to our President and the Board of Directors”, the Galatasaray chief said, via Fanatik.

“Currently, Osimhen is with us. We have not held any meetings—neither regarding a transfer nor an offer. We haven’t even looked at them. Naturally, everyone is keeping Osimhen under close observation anyway.”

Soccer What next for Victor Osimhen?

Osimhen recently scored a brilliant brace as Galatasaray defeated Antalyaspor 4-2 to secure a fourth consecutive Turkish Super Lig title, marking his third trophy in two seasons with the Istanbul giants.

His displays in that match have only intensified speculation over his future, with reports continuing to link him with a possible move away from Rams Park this summer.

However, Osimhen has developed a strong connection with the club’s supporters since his arrival in 2024 and the Nigerian forward has also spoken publicly about how much the club means to him.

Meanwhile, Galatasaray remain determined to keep one of their most important players as they look to continue their domestic dominance and compete more seriously in Europe next season.

For now, all indications point towards the 27-year-old staying in Istanbul for at least another season. However, with interest from Europe’s biggest clubs continuing to grow and the summer transfer window still ahead, the situation could change in the coming months.
