Israeli Prime Minister, Netanyahu Undergoes Prostate Cancer Treatment

Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has disclosed that he was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer but has successfully undergone treatment, declaring that he is now in good health.

The Israeli leader made the revelation in a personal statement posted on his official X account, explaining that the announcement was intentionally delayed due to ongoing geopolitical tensions.

Netanyahu said the decision to withhold the information was to prevent it from being exploited for propaganda purposes amid the ongoing conflict involving Israel.

“Today, my annual medical report was published. I requested to delay its release so it would not come out at the height of the war or be used to spread false narratives,” he said.

Reassuring citizens, the Prime Minister stated that the condition had been detected early and fully addressed.

“I am healthy and in excellent physical condition. I had a minor issue with my prostate, which has been completely treated. It is now behind me,” Netanyahu declared.

Netanyahu explained that the diagnosis was made during routine medical monitoring following a previous procedure for an enlarged prostate about a year and a half ago.

According to him, doctors discovered a small abnormality measuring less than one centimetre during a recent check-up. Further examination confirmed it to be an early-stage malignant tumour with no signs of spread.

He noted that medical experts presented him with multiple treatment options, adding that such conditions are relatively common among men of his age and can sometimes be managed through observation alone.

Despite the options available, Netanyahu said he opted for swift medical intervention.

“When I am faced with a potential risk, I prefer to deal with it immediately, both in personal matters and national issues. I chose treatment, and the problem has been removed completely,” he stated.

His disclosure has since sparked renewed attention on the importance of early detection and routine screening for prostate-related conditions, particularly among older men.

Health experts have consistently emphasised that early diagnosis significantly improves treatment outcomes in prostate cancer cases.

This is not the first time the Israeli leader has undergone a medical procedure in recent years.

In March 2024, Netanyahu underwent surgery for a hernia in Jerusalem and reportedly recovered without complications.

The latest revelation, however, appears aimed at reassuring both citizens and international observers about his fitness to continue leading the country during a critical period.
