Dani Busboom Kelly Backs Nebraska Basketball After Illinois Loss, Calls Courtside Moment ‘Priceless’

Nebraska Volleyball head coach Dani Busboom Kelly enjoyed being in attendance for the program’s men’s basketball team on Sunday with her son. They watched the Cornhuskers suffer a 78-69 defeat to the Illinois Fighting Illini.

Despite a strong start and a six-point halftime lead, the Nebraska men’s basketball team fell to its second defeat of the season.

Basketball What Did Nebraska Volleyball Coach Dani Busboom Kelly Say After The Men’s Basketball Loss?

Busboom Kelly was at the Pinnacle Bank Arena on Sunday to watch the Huskers basketball team in action. Despite the result, the Nebraska Volleyball head coach enjoyed the outing with her son and said that seeing him show an interest in sports was ‘priceless’.

“Losing sucks, but seeing this three-year-old into sports is priceless. We believe in this Huskers basketball team,” she wrote on her Instagram story.

On the court, Braden Frager scored a team-high 20 points on his return to Nebraska. But it wasn’t enough to prevent the defeat.

Nebraska now holds a 20-2 record for the year. The Huskers are enjoying a strong season and will hope to be in contention for the national title come the end of the year.

Reeling from back-to-back defeats, the Nebraska men’s basketball team will next be in action against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on February 7.

Basketball Nebraska Volleyball Head Coach Busboom Kelly on What Went Wrong in Texas A&M Loss

The Nebraska Volleyball team had an abrupt end to its 2025 season, losing 3-2 to the Texas A&M Aggies in the quarterfinals. Backed to continue their unbeaten streak en route to the NCAA title, the Huskers were left stunned as their wait for another trophy was extended by at least another year.

After the defeat, Busboom Kelly felt that her team may have been too “one-dimensional”. Despite that, she was proud of the way Nebraska Volleyball fought back.

“I thought as the game went on, we adjusted well and started swinging high and I think we got a little bit one-dimensional… I thought our passing was okay but a lot of Bergen and you know that got us out of our comfort zone,” Busboom Kelly said during her post-match press conference.

“Obviously, a really awesome game by Texas A&M, and they played like they had six seniors on the court. I’m proud of the way we fought back, and we played our hearts out and had a lot of things against us this week,” she added.
