Entertainment company Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Hiroshi Shiibashi‘s Iwamoto-senpai no Suisen (Recommendation from Mr. Iwamoto) manga on Friday, revealing the main cast, staff, a teaser visual (pictured) and first promotional video.

Shiibashi began the military-themed manga as a one-shot in Shounen Jump+ web magazine in March 2020 before beginning regular serialization in Ultra Jump in February 2021. Shueisha published the 12th volume on September 19 last year, with the 13th volume set to be released on January 19.
Shiibashi serialized Nuraihyon no Mago (Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan) in Shounen Jump between March 2008 and December 2012. Studio Deen adapted the manga into two television anime seasons in Summer 2010 and Summer 2011.
Synopsis
The 1910s. Iwamoto Kodo, a student at Suho Junior High School under direct command of the army, is investigating paranormal phenomena across the country as per military instruction. In a village rumoured to have “black snow,” he meets a boy with special powers who believes them to be an illness; through Iwamoto’s support, he realises they might have something in common and receives a recommendation to the school. Mysteries await Iwamoto at each place he visits–a romantic tale of this era begins to unravel!
