Liverpool have earlier been linked with luring Super Eagles attacker, Victor Osimhen, to the English Premier League…

English Premier League champions Liverpool have stepped up their summer transfer activity by approaching Newcastle United for Alexander Isak, Soccernet.ng reports.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the deal for the Swedish forward is worth around £120 million.

The six-time FA Cup champions, however, maintain a firm stance that the former Borussia Dortmund player, Isak, is not for sale.

Liverpool have made an approach to Newcastle to express their interest in signing Alexander Isak in a £120M deal.

Newcastle’s stance has not changed: They don’t want to sell.

The 25-year-old former Real Sociedad striker is considered central to the club’s long-term project after netting 27 goals last season.

For Nigerian goal poacher Victor Osimhen, this could further complicate any lingering hopes of securing a move to the Premier League, as they have emerged as the most serious suitors from the English side.

Osimhen, long linked with several English clubs including Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal, is reportedly open to leaving Napoli this summer.

But with Liverpool prioritising Isak, the likelihood of a Merseyside switch for Osimhen now appears increasingly slim.

Napoli are still seeking around €75 million for Osimhen, a fee few clubs seem ready to meet outright, but most have pushed back owing to his salary demands.

Liverpool’s focus on Isak suggests Osimhen will have to stick with Galatasaray as he weighs his next move.

While Manchester United continue to monitor his situation, there’s growing uncertainty about whether the Premier League is still a realistic destination for the Super Eagles star in this window.
