Another fire breaks out at Thembisa Hospital

THEMBISA – Another fire has broke out at the Tembisa Tertiary Hopsital in Ekurhuleni.

This time at the hospital’s main Out Patient Department (OPD) adjacent to the Accident and Emergency Unit which burned over the past Easter weekend.

According to Gauteng Department of Health (GDoH) spokesperson Motalatale Modiba, fire fighters from the City of Ekurhuleni’s Fire Department are currently on site attending to the fire.

It’s still unknown what caused the fire.

The incident follows just days after a fire broke out on Saturday in the hospital’s emergency unit.

The cause of the fire is not yet clear as investigations are underway.

Patients in the unit were evacuated.
