“You need consistency” – Father of AC Milan striker advises Chukwueze

Former Super Eagles striker, Peter Ijeh, has advised his countryman, Samuel Chukwueze, on the next steps in his career following his performance at the Unity Cup, Soccernet.ng reports.

Coming from a poor season at AC Milan, the Super Eagles attacker once again showed a positive performance for Eric Chelle’s team, scoring a goal that was crucial in their victory against Jamaica.

The former Villarreal forward wowed the fans with his pace once again and his entertaining style of play, which has called for consistency to maintain a regular Super Eagles call-up.

Ijeh, who is the father of AC Milan striker Evelyn Ijeh, has sent a clear message to the Nigerian, urging him to improve his consistency on the pitch.

What Has Peter Ijeh Said?

Speaking on Brila FM, Ijeh, whose daughter recently snubbed the Super Falcons to focus on getting capped with the Swedish national team, praised Chukwueze’s talent as a left-footed player but insisted that raw skill is not enough at the highest level.

“Being a left footer, he’s unique. But he has to really up and define his game. In everything, you need consistency,” Ijeh said.

Samuel Chukwueze Confesses to Worst Season at AC Milan

The Nigerian attacker has labelled the just-concluded season as his worst ever, having not contributed much to the team, unlike his previous seasons.

In the 2024-25 season campaign, Chukwueze only scored five goals, with three of them coming from his 36 match appearances in the domestic league.

Speaking to Victor Modo, as earlier reported by Soccernet.ng, the Nigerian attacker hopes to win the Scudetto title or the Champions League, which also plays down any rumour of exit

“Milan’s supporters are among the best in the world. They truly deserve more (than we did last season),” Chukwueze told Modo Victor.

“They stand with us through rain and cold, taking off their shirts, singing, and backing the team wholeheartedly.”

“Unfortunately, this season we let them down. I hope next season will be much better—with triumphs in the Scudetto, Coppa Italia, and a return to the Champions League to make up for it all.”

Chukwueze Shines for Eric Chelle

The AC Milan forward has impressed the Malian gaffer following his two international outings, where he has stood out in the squad. He can only hope for a consistent performance, having scored a goal against Jamaica.

He has been left out of the squad to face Russia due to personal reasons, but it is hoped that he will build on that performance ahead of the upcoming games.
