Cowboys HC Brian Schottenheimer: Micah Parsons has been ‘in and out’ ahead of voluntary OTAs

Football

The Dallas Cowboys began OTAs on Monday which launched some work for the team. These are still light activities relative to overall football, but they are significant.

Perhaps what is most significant about OTAs is that they exist as an opportunity for the team to gather with one another. These are voluntary so this can also offer a look at how certain players feel relative to certain situations; that is the nice way of mentioning that potential holdouts regarding contracts can and do happen.

To date, there has been no sign of Micah Parsons holding out of anything in the middle of contract negotiations with the team. Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer spoke to the media on Tuesday and noted that Micah has been “in and out” and did not mention anything specific about potential on-field work for the star pass rusher.

Brian Schottenheimer said that Micah Parsons has been “in and out” and doesn’t know if he’ll be in the building today for #Cowboys voluntary OTAs.

Brian Schottenheimer said Micah Parsons has been in and out of the voluntary offseason program. Parsons was at Monday’s OTA but Schottenheimer wasn’t sure if Parsons will be around today. He has no issues with how Parsons has approached the offseason work.

Cowboys DE Micah Parsons has been “in and out” of OTAs this week as he awaits his contract extension.

HC Brian Schottenheimer is pleased with Parsons’ offseason involvement compared to years past.

With regards to any kind of holdout, as noted, Parsons has not seemed willing to go down that path. While that may be true, this does not guarantee that he will do anything on the field during any kind of voluntary window like OTAs.
