JoySports National Sports Dialogue: Rex Danquah unveiled as speaker on infrastructure

International sports consultant, Magnus Rex Danquah, has been unveiled as one of the main speakers for the 2025 JoySports National Dialogue.

The event, which is scheduled for Thursday, March 13, will take place at the premises of Joy Prime.

The JoySports National Dialogue is a thought-leadership programme which is targeted at shaping the future of sports in the country.

Rex Danquah is expected to address issues of sports infrastructure in Ghana having been involved in the success stories of many sporting events.

He was the architect behind some of Ghana’s most iconic events, including the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the African Games 2023 (Accra 2023), the African Youth Football Championship (Ghana 99), and the 2009 African Hockey Cup of Nations.

Rex Danquah also secured the rights for Ghana to host the 2023 African Games.

With an unshakable passion for excellence, he has left an indelible mark on the country’s development, shaping its event landscape and international reputation.

One of his greatest achievements was his role as CEO of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of CAN 2008, Ghana’s successful hosting of the African Cup of Nations. The event, which saw the construction and renovation of key stadiums across the country, remains one of the most successful continental tournaments in history.

Under his leadership, Ghana delivered a world-class competition that showcased its hospitality and infrastructure.

Rex Danquah will be joined by other speakers including Anthony Baffoe and Tom Vernon, at the JoyPrime studios for the JoySports National Dialogue.
