Netflix has officially confirmed the production of its upcoming series “Wish Your Death” (working title)!
On March 6, Netflix announced that Jeon So Young, Kang Mina, Baek Sun Ho, Hyun Woo Seok, and Lee Hyo Je will star in its upcoming horror series “Wish Your Death.”
“Wish Your Death” follows a group of high school students who receive a chilling death notice after using “Girigo,” an app that grants any wish uploaded as a video. As they scramble to escape the app’s deadly curse, they uncover its sinister truth.
The story centers around five high school friends who discover that the mysterious app Girigo is linked to their friend’s sudden and mysterious death. As they dig deeper, the shocking truth behind Girigo begins to surface, pulling them into an inescapable nightmare.
Notably, “Wish Your Death” marks Netflix’s first foray into the Young Adult Horror genre. Helming the series is director Park Yoon Seo, who has built a solid reputation through his work on “Kingdom Season 2,” “The Admiral: Roaring Currents,” and the hit drama “Moving.”
Jeon So Young plays Sae Ah, a promising track athlete at Seorin High School who will stop at nothing to protect her friends and expose the app’s dark secrets.
Kang Mina portrays Na Ri, a popular student with idol-like visuals who dismisses Sae Ah’s warnings about the app’s deadly curse.
Baek Sun Ho takes on the role of Geon Woo, Sae Ah’s secret boyfriend who finds himself unsettled by her growing obsession with the app.
Hyun Woo Seok plays Ha Joon, the brain of the group and a coding enthusiast who attempts to analyze the app’s mysteries through a technical lens.
Lastly, Lee Hyo Je stars as Hyung Wook, a fun-loving jokester whose life spirals into chaos after his wish on Girigo unexpectedly comes true.
