The management team of Legendary musician Amakye Dede have issued an official statement revealing that a road accident was reason for his poor performance in Kumasi.

According to the statement, the accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, December 29, 2024, around 1:50 AM, as Amakye Dede and his team were traveling from Takoradi City Mall to Agona Swedru for their next show. The unfortunate incident took place between Apam and Winneba.

The management disclosed that Amakye Dede and his team were rushed to the Winneba Hospital, where they received first aid treatment from 2:00 AM to 6:00 AM.

Despite the physical toll of the ordeal, the legendary musician demonstrated immense dedication by continuing his journey to Kumasi later that morning to honour a scheduled performance.

However, due to the strain caused by the incident, Amakye Dede was unable to perform. Instead, his talented band stepped in and delivered a memorable show on his behalf.

The vehicle involved in the accident was identified as a V8, which was carrying Amakye Dede and his management team.

It is with great concern that we inform our cherished fans, partners, and the general public about an unfortunate accident involving the legendary Amakye Dede and his team in the early hours of Sunday, December 29, 2024, at approximately 1:50 AM. The incident occurred during their journey from Takoradi, following a successful performance at the Takoradi City Mall, to Agona Swedru for their next scheduled show.

The accident happened between Apam and Winneba. Amakye Dede and his team were immediately rushed to the Winneba Hospital, where they received first aid treatment from 2:00 AM to 6:00 AM. Despite the physical toll of the incident, Amakye Dede demonstrated remarkable dedication to his fans by traveling to Kumasi later that morning for a scheduled performance. However, due to the strain from the ordeal, he was unable to perform as planned, and his incredible band stepped in to deliver a memorable performance on his behalf.

The vehicle involved was a V8, carrying Amakye Dede and his management team.
