CLASH DJ Mix – Dr. Dubplate

UK club culture has never stood still. The communities that permeate only know one direction: forwards. Take Dr. Dubplate – a potent representative for bass music in all its flavours, he’s closely tethered to the more ruckus side of UK garage.

Helming his EC2A label, Dr. Dubplate has built a community of system rattlers, working with producers at home and abroad. It’s getting serious, too – recently taking over fabric, the label also linked with Skreamizm for a special showcase at Beams.

Highlights also include a trip to Glastonbury’s legendary Silver Hayes – going B2B with the godfather himself, Todd Edwards – and multiple high profile radio spots. Meanwhile, over the course of the next few months, EC2A have releases from the likes of DJ ADHD, Mia Koden, Jossy Mitsu, Silva Bumpa, and many others.

Dr. Dubplate holds down a weekly show on Rinse FM, and he’s linking with CLASH for a very special DJ mix.

It’s an all EC2A affair, with this future-facing selection tapping into the bedrock of UKG as a form. The man himself comments…

“For this CLASH mix I really wanted to capture the EC2A sound so I decided to record an 100% label mix.
