Last month, smartphone company Vivo launched its S16 series. In the S16 series, Vivo also released S16, S16e, and S16 Pro smartphones. The Vivo S16 smartphone cost around $350 (Rs 29,590 in India) approx. The smartphone has 5G connectivity and also comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with HDR10+ support and the display has a better 120Hz refresh rate. The phone weighs around 182 grams, that’s is good in the hand. The Vivo S16 runs on the latest Android 13 OS with the Origin OS 3 user interface. For chipset, the smartphone equips a 7nm Qualcomm SM8250-AC Snapdragon 870 5G works better in daily tasks and gaming with Adreno 650 GPU. In the Vivo S16 smartphone, you get 8GB/12GB RAM support accompanied by 128GB/256GB/512GB internal storage. But the secondary card slot is missing in this smartphone. Let’s talk about camera performance, the Vivo S16 has a triple camera setup including a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP camera lens. The main camera setup can easily record up to 4K videos, while the front selfie camera comes with a 50MP selfie camera that gives you amazing selfies. The selfie camera can record 1080p videos at 30 fps, but both side cameras are missing gyro-EIS support. The smartphone also has a Li-Po 4600 mAh battery capacity that powers the smartphone, while 66W fast charging support is also present. Qualcomm Adreno 650: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets that is integrated within the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. Qualcomm claims that it is 25% faster than the Adreno 640 in the Snapdragon 855 SoC and offers 50% more compute units (ALUs). For Android it should be one of the fastest graphics cards in 2020.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

SD 870: High-end SoC for smartphones that was introduced in mid 2020 and manufactured in 7 nm at TSMC (improved N7P). Integrates one Prime Core based on a ARM Cortex-A77 architecture clocked at up to 3.2 GHz. Three more performance cores are also based on the A77 but clock up to 2.42 GHz. Large display-sizes allow higher resolutions. So, details like letters are bigger. On the other hand, the power consumption is lower with small screen diagonals and the devices are smaller, more lightweight and cheaper.
