Resident Evil: Death Island CG Animated Film Receives Teaser Trailer

On February 7, Sony Pictures Entertainment released a teaser trailer for a new CG animated film in in the Resident Evil series, titled Resident Evil: Death Island. The film is a sequel to Resident Evil: Vendetta, and is expected to premiere this summer.

The plot of the film as described by Sony Pictures is as follows:

D.S.O. agent Leon S. Kennedy is on a mission to rescue Dr. Antonio Taylor from kidnappers, when a mysterious woman thwarts his pursuit.

Meanwhile, B.S.A.A. agent Chris Redfield is investigating a zombie outbreak in San Francisco, where the cause of the infection cannot be identified.

The only thing the victims have in common is that they all visited Alcatraz Island recently. Following that clue, Chris and his team head to the island, where a new horror awaits them.

The film is directed by Eiichirō Hasumi, with Makoto Fukami writing the screenplay. The film has an entirely original story and features characters from multiple games in the series. The project was supervised by the CAPCOM producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi.

The English dub cast includes Matthew Mercer as Leon S. Kennedy, Kevin Dorman as Chris Redfield, and Erin Cahill as Rebecca Chambers.

Claire and Leon will meet again at the White House. Claire is investigating a child’s drawing that she had found in a remote country. When she asks Leon about it, he tries to divert her. However, the White House is attacked by infected zombies on the same day.
