This forum will examine whether Washington state’s current policy environment supports businesses and workers and whether those goals are sometimes in tension
The Washington Policy Center will host a policy forum Thursday (June 4) at the Vancouver Community Library (The Columbia Room), located at 901 C St. in Vancouver. The event will be from 5:15 p.m.-6:30 p.m.
This forum – entitled Is Washington State Business- and Worker-Friendly – will examine whether Washington state’s current policy environment supports businesses and workers and whether those goals are sometimes in tension.
The discussion will focus on real-world outcomes: Hiring ease, wages, flexibility, business formation, cross-state competitive advantages and disadvantages and worker opportunity.
Attendees will hear from a panel of experts from across the political spectrum with a wide variety of perspectives, including:
- Mark Harmsworth, Washington Policy Center’s Director for the Center for Small Business
- State Representative Monica Jurado Stonier of the 49th Legislative District
- State Representative April Berg of the 44th Legislative District
- Elizabeth New, Washington Policy Center’s Director for the Center for Worker Rights
- Moderator Renee Radcliff Sinclair, President and CEO of TVW
