Madonna Offers Reward for Missing Coachella Outfits: ‘They Are a Part of My History’

Madonna pulled vintage pieces from her personal archive for her special appearance during Sabrina Carpenter’s headlining set on Friday, only to find the garments missing later on

Madonna planned her Coachella return perfectly. The pop legend made a surprise appearance during Sabrina Carpenter’s headlining set on Friday, 20 years after she performed in the dance tent in support of Confessions on the Dance Floor. She honored the anniversary by wearing the same boots, corset, and jacket she wore during that earlier performance. Everything seemed to have gone according to plan until after the set, when Madonna realized the items she pulled from her personal archive were gone.

“This full-circle moment hit different until I discovered that the vintage pieces that I wore went missing — my costume that was pulled from my personal archives — jacket, corset, dress and all other garments,” Madonna wrote in a statement on social media. “These aren’t just clothes, they are a part of my history.” The artist is offering a reward for the safe return of the pieces. “Other archival items from the same era went missing as well,” she continued. “I’m hoping and praying that some kind soul, will find these items and reach out to my team at: In**************@***il.com.”

During her appearance with Carpenter, Madonna performed “Vogue,” “Like a Prayer,” and “Get Together.” She also debuted “Bring Your Love” from her upcoming album, Confessions II. “I have a few things I wanna get off my chest,” she said onstage. “Twenty years ago today, I performed at Coachella. I was in the dance tent, and it was the first time I performed Confessions on the Dance Floor, part one, in America.”

She added: “That was such a thrill for me, so you can imagine what a thrill it is for me to be back 20 years later in the same boots, the same corset, the jacket I had on earlier, the same Gucci jacket. So, it’s like a full-circle moment, very meaningful for me.”

Confessions II will be Madonna’s first album since 2019’s Madame X. It arrives on July 3. Hopefully her clothes are returned by then.
