Will it resonate?
Remedy Entertainment isn’t known for making safe bets with its games, so its latest comments on the upcoming Control Resonant shouldn’t come as a big surprise.
The game, a sequel to 2019’s Control, was announced at the 2025 Game Awards, and will follow Jesse Faden’s brother Dylan as he leaves the confines of the Oldest House amid an outbreak of supernatural forces.
It sounds as though Remedy isn’t resting on its laurels with this one; in a recent social post, the team makes some exciting comments about what it’s aiming for with Resonant.

“With CONTROL Resonant, we wanted to challenge ourselves to make the biggest and most ambitious game we’ve ever made,” it reads. “This is not a safe sequel. We want to push the boundaries of what we can do, and we believe after 7 years it’s what you, the fans, deserve.”
What we know about the game so far is that you’re playing as Jesse’s brother, who was in containment at the Oldest House in the original.
The game also takes place outside the Bureau’s walls, allowing you to explore the wider city, and will focus on melee combat rather than ranged action in the first game.
As mentioned, Remedy rarely plays it safe with its games, so we weren’t exactly expecting that from Resonant. If anything, it sounds like the opposite is true; the studio is aiming high, and coming off the back of the brilliant Alan Wake 2, we’re excited to see what it has in store.
