recalled CHOMPS beef sticks

An Idaho company is recalling more than 14 tons of ready-to-eat beef sticks after two consumers complained about pieces of metal in the product.

Idaho Smokehouse Partners LLC of Shelley, ID, issued the recall of 29,541 pounds of product on March 20. The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service reported that the beef sticks were produced in January and have an expiration date of Feb. 10, 2026.

These recalled products were shipped to retail locations in California and Illinois.

Consumers can identify the recalled beef sticks by looking for the following information on the labels of the 1.15-ounce vacuum-sealed product.

Recalled product:

“CHOMPS ORIGINAL BEEF STICK MILD”

  • Expiration date of 02-10-2026
  • Lot code 25016 printed on the label
  • The product also has the establishment number 6220A ink-jetted on the label

As of the posting of this recall, there have been no confirmed reports of injury because of consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury should contact a healthcare provider, according to the recall notice posted by the USDA.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. The beef sticks should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

About foreign object concerns
