A Harare woman has revealed shocking details about her husband’s unusual and abusive behaviour, claiming he uses chilli in their lula sessions putting her health at serious risk.
During a court hearing at the Harare Civil Court, Joyce Garikayi accused her husband, Jack Mukandwe, of physical and emotional abuse. Joyce alleges that Jack uses chilli during their lula moments, which has caused severe discomfort and health problems.

My privates are now reacting and always itching as a result of the chilli that is used by my husband in what he claims is a way to spice up our sex encounters. Every time I deny him sex, he insults me saying my father’s goblins are the ones sleeping with me.

Shockingly, Jack did not deny these claims. Instead, he admitted to experimenting with the practice after hearing about it from his friends, who claimed to use the same method in their relationships.
Joyce seeks protection order to escape husband’s abuse
Joyce told the court that she had moved back to her parent’s home to escape Jack’s violent behaviour. However, he continued to stalk her and subject her to harassment. She feared for her safety and pleaded with the court for a protection order.
He calls me a prostitute in front of our children. Jack assaults me with an electricity cable each time he is angry. He is in the habit of removing asbestos from our roof each time he feels I have provoked him.

Jack’s Apology and Plea for Reconciliation
In response, Jack apologized for his violent actions. He excused his behaviour, saying that it was due to his short temper. Furthermore, Jack proposed that they could try working on their marriage together. Despite his apology, Joyce remains cautious, prioritizing her safety and well-being.
