No January exit? Lookman eyes more success with Atalanta in 2025 amid Man United, PSG links

Soccer

Super Eagles and Atalanta forward Ademola Olajade Lookman, has backed his team to build on their solid performances this year and to produce an even better campaign in 2025, Soccernet.ng reports.

The former RB Leipzig man had a brilliant year with Gian Piero Gasperini’s side, leading them to the Coppa Italia final, and scoring a hat-trick in the UEFA Europa League final against Xabi Alonso’s Bayer 04 Leverkusen to gift Atalanta their maiden European silverware.

Atalanta have started this season on the front foot as well, and are currently joint-top of the Italian Serie A with Inter Milan, although the 2010 treble winners have a game in hand.

Lookman provided an assist in Atalanta’s draw against Lazio last night, and the Nigerian admitted the result was a positive step in the right direction despite their two-point drop. He also added he wants to achieve more for La Dea next year.

“It was a tough match, the first half was very difficult for us, but we fought and on another day might’ve won the game. We drew today, but we didn’t lose, so it’s positive.

The club had a fantastic 2024, so we want to continue doing the same thing and the new year will be even better,” the ex-Leicester City attacker told Sky Sport Italia.
