  • Every WA household to receive another $350 off their next power bill, starting Saturday
  • Second instalment of the $700 Household Electricity Credit delivering cost-of-living relief to all Western Australians
  • Cook Labor Government partnering with Albanese Labor Government to do what is right for WA

Western Australian households will receive another burst of cost-of-living relief heading into Christmas, with the second instalment of the $700 Household Electricity Credit to roll out from this weekend.

The Cook Labor Government has partnered with the Albanese Labor Government to deliver the credit, with the $350 instalment to be applied on Synergy and Horizon bills from 7 December.

Households with a direct billing account with Synergy or Horizon Power will automatically have the credit applied to their next bill after this Saturday.

For households that do not have an account with Synergy or Horizon Power, applications for assistance are open through RevenueWA , closing on 31 January 2025.

Households requiring additional support can access additional power bill relief through the Energy Assistance Payment and the Dependent Child Rebate.

This year’s $700 Household Electricity Credit takes total power bill relief delivered by the WA Labor Government to at least $2,100 for every household over the past four years.

As stated by Premier Roger Cook:

“Delivering cost-of-living relief to WA families is our top priority.

“Over the past four years, our WA Labor Government has delivered $2100 in power bill relief to every single WA household.

“In partnership with the Albanese Labor Government, we’re making sure every WA household receives another $350 off their power bill this Christmas.

“Only my WA Labor Government will deliver genuine cost-of-living relief for WA, because we’ll always do what’s right for WA.”

As stated by Treasurer Rita Saffioti:

“This is real support that makes a difference to WA households juggling cost-of-living pressures.

“Our Government has made clear we will continue to support Western Australian households and businesses through these cost-of-living pressures.

“We can only deliver this kind of support through strong financial management and keeping net debt sustainable.”

As stated by Energy Minister Reece Whitby:

“By investing in clean, affordable, and reliable energy, our Government is tackling cost-of-living pressures for households throughout WA.

“This electricity credit will further support our efforts and provide much-needed relief for families this Christmas.”
