Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka has been out of action for Coventry City since their opening Premier League fixture against Arsenal, Soccernet.ng<\/a> reports.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Nigeria international missed Coventry\u2019s last two competitive matches against Plymouth Argyle in the Carabao Cup and Hull City in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

However, Coventry City coach Frank Lampard has now provided a positive update on the midfielder ahead of the daunting trip to the Etihad Stadium.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is available for tomorrow,\u201d the former Chelsea midfielder said in quotes revealed by Coventry Live<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The news will also come as a boost to Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle, who is preparing his squad for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.<\/p>\n

Soccer Frank Onyeka back in action for Coventry City<\/h2>\n

Onyeka has made one Premier League appearance for Coventry this season, starting their opening-day fixture against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.<\/p>\n

His availability for the Manchester City fixture could therefore give Lampard an experienced option in midfield as Coventry attempt to avoid a third consecutive league defeat.<\/p>\n

Onyeka played an important role in Coventry\u2019s promotion campaign after joining the club on loan from Brentford in January.<\/p>\n

He made 14 Championship appearances, scoring once and providing one assist, before Coventry made his move permanent during the summer<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Manchester City represent another major test, with Coventry travelling to the Etihad without a point or a goal from their opening two league fixtures.<\/p>\n

Onyeka\u2019s physicality and defensive discipline will be important against Enzo Maresca\u2019s side, particularly if Coventry are forced to spend long periods without possession.<\/p>\n

The Nigerian midfielder has already demonstrated that he can operate effectively in Lampard\u2019s system, while his experience of top-flight football with Brentford and Augsburg gives him an advantage over some of Coventry\u2019s younger midfield options like Yirenki.<\/p>\n

Big boost for Super Eagles<\/h3>\n

Lampard\u2019s confirmation that Onyeka is available is certainly encouraging for Eric Chelle, particularly with Nigeria\u2019s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau approaching. <\/p>\n

The midfielder remains an important option in a position where the Super Eagles have already had some fitness concerns, especially after Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Tochukwu Nnadi picked up injuries.<\/p>\n
