Copyright: IMAGO<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Former Super Eagles forward Peter Odemwingie has opened up on the infamous transfer deadline day saga involving West Bromwich Albion and Queens Park Rangers during his Premier League career,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/soccernet.ng\/\"><u>Soccernet.ng<\/u><\/a>\u00a0reports.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Nigerian forward was at the centre of a controversial failed transfer in January 2013 when he attempted to leave West Brom for QPR.<\/p>\n<p>Odemwingie had joined the Baggies in 2010 from Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow in his first move to the Premier League. Till today, although I\u2019ve already given a few interviews in the past and I have made posts on former Twitter, Instagram and I\u2019ve put this thing out, some people still comment and ask about what happened on the day\u201d,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/oluwashina\/status\/2094357554721611959?s=46\">Odemwingie said\u00a0in a recent interview.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe problem about this whole story is that nobody is interested in the truth. They just want to be distracted. Sky Sports milked this situation for so many years. I think it\u2019s just wickedness really.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThey know what a transfer is like and how complicated it can be, especially swap deals.\u00a0On the very day this thing happened, Dharmesh and his friend, who was the agent, Barry McIntosh, were working together to try and make this thing happen\u201d, the ex-West Brom star continued.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe first time they said,\u00a0\u2018Let\u2019s do a Sky interview on deadline day,\u2019\u00a0I was in my car driving down and the agent called me and said,\u00a0\u2018Let\u2019s go to Sky Studios.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI said,\u00a0\u2018For what?\u2019\u00a0And he said,\u00a0\u2018West Brom is making things difficult.\u2019\u00a0I\u00a0said,\u00a0\u2018That\u2019s stupid, that\u2019s childish and I\u2019ll never go in front of a camera on purpose.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe then parked up and I called West Brom. Dan Ashworth tried to reach them and text them, but we got no reply.
