She was also often ranked high in the fan-voted challenges.<\/p>\n So, it was no wonder that she placed first in the show’s finale with an overall top score of 88.33.<\/p>\n In August 2026, Sophia announced that she would be taking a temporary hiatus<\/a> to focus on her physical and mental health.<\/p>\n<\/figcaption> 3<\/p>\n \/<\/p>\n 7<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Amy Sussman\/Getty Images<\/p>\n Lara RaJ<\/p>\n<\/h2> Born on November 3, 2005, in Connecticut, Lara already had quite the performing r\u00e9sum\u00e9 before she was scouted for Dream Academy\u00a0<\/em>through her singing videos on social media.<\/p>\n “I began vocal lessons, acting training and dance classes in Dallas, Texas, where I spent my early childhood,” she told Voyage LA<\/a> <\/em>magazine in 2020. “I spent years performing with the Septien Entertainment Group there at venues like the House of Blues, Hard Rock Cafe, American Airlines Center, Six Flags and various music festivals.”<\/p>\n She moved to New York City as a teen to study at Professional Performing Arts School and Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School, which boasts an alumni list including Jennifer Aniston<\/strong> and Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet<\/strong>. So, while the then-15-year-old was more than ready for Dream Academy<\/em>, her biggest challenge was admittedly “trying to learn more about the other members\u2019 cultures.”<\/p>\n \u201cOf course, another challenge for me was embracing English as a language, especially since I was not used to it before,” she told Billboard Philippines<\/em><\/a> in 2025. “I\u2019d like to think that I made some progress there.”<\/p>\n In the series, Yoonchae placed fourth with an overall score of 78.00.<\/p>\n<\/figcaption> 6<\/p>\n \/<\/p>\n 7<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Amy Sussman\/Getty Images<\/p>\n Megan Skiendiel<\/p>\n<\/h2> In addition to dance and vocal training, the Hawaiian native\u2014born February 10, 2006\u2014also had acting experience under her belt before Dream Academy<\/em>.<\/p>\n She appeared as an extra in 2015’s Jurassic World<\/em>, before landing minor parts in Raven’s Home<\/em>, Sydney to the Max<\/em> and Bosch: Legacy<\/em>.<\/p>\n As documented in Pop Star Academy<\/em>, Megan was one of the earliest candidates to train for the competition. She placed fifth in the Dream Academy <\/em>finale with a score of 68.33.<\/p>\n In September 2024, Megan took a brief break due to a back injury related to scoliosis.<\/p>\n<\/figcaption> 7<\/p>\n \/<\/p>\n 7<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Amy Sussman\/Getty Images<\/p>\n Manon Bannerman<\/p>\n<\/h2> Though she was born Meret Manon Sarpong Bannerman <\/strong>on June 26, 2002, the Swiss native <\/strong>started going by her middle name at 15 years old when she spent a year studying abroad in America.<\/p>\n \u00a0“At school, they pronounced Meret so strangely,” she explained to Swiss-German newspaper Tages-Anzeiger<\/a> <\/em>in 2023. “So I switched to Manon. That worked better.”<\/p>\n She was scouted for Dream Academy <\/em>after Hybe casting manager Michelle Kim<\/strong> saw her on social media.
