Fontaines D.C.<\/strong> have issued a statement mourning the death of their long-time manager Trevor Dietz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The band manager was a key figure in Irish music, hoping to spearhead a wave of bands breaking out of the country\u2019s music scene. Trevor Dietz developed a close association with Fontaines D.C., working with the group for over a decade.<\/p>\n Helping Fontaines D.C. sign to Partisan Records<\/strong>, Trevor then oversaw their move to UK label XL Recordings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n A noted football fan \u2013 he appeared in a clip for Bohemians F.C., and the club had an enormously successful tie-in with Fontaines last year<\/a><\/span><\/strong> \u2013 Trevor Dietz was also outspoken in his belief in the Palestinian cause.<\/p>\n News of Trevor\u2019s passing was confirmed today \u2013 June 9th \u2013 with Fontaines D.C. describing themselves as \u201cutterly heartbroken\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cTrevor was beside us from the beginning of our journey as a band, we have never known Fontaines D.C. without him, the sixth member of the band,\u201d they wrote on\u00a0social media<\/a>. \u201cHe cared passionately for us and for what was fair and right in the wider world. He was fearless in his beliefs. We will miss him always.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe ask that you kindly respect our privacy and that of his family at this terribly difficult time.
