A member of Vice President\u00a0JD Vance<\/a>\u00a0\u2019s security detail is being investigated over allegations tied to a suspected news leak, the U.S. Secret Service said Thursday.<\/p>\n

\n

Anthony Guglielmi, a Secret Service spokesperson, said the security-team member faces an internal investigation and potential criminal inquiry over allegations involving compromised \u201coperational and information security.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile we will not comment on the specifics of this matter, one principle is unequivocal: any conduct that potentially threatens the safety of a protectee will not be tolerated,\u201d Guglielmi said in a statement.<\/p>\n

The agency did not identify the person under investigation.<\/p>\n

The Secret Service said the investigation is tied to a report from MS NOW last week saying that some Secret Service agents had privately expressed frustration over last-minute travel requests from Vance and his family.<\/p>\n

Vance\u2019s office referred questions to the Secret Service.<\/p>\n

Vance and\u00a0his wife, Usha,<\/a>\u00a0live in the vice president\u2019s residence at the U.S. Naval Observatory along with their young children.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, the couple\u00a0welcomed their fourth child<\/a>, Alec Neel Vance, the first baby born to a sitting vice president in more than 150 years. He\u2019s joined by older siblings Ewan, 9; Vivek, 6; and Mirabel, 4.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
