Former NFL and Auburn University running back\u00a0Tre Mason<\/strong>\u00a0was arrested in South Florida over the weekend on multiple charges, according to Palm Beach County court records.<\/p>\n Mason was taken into custody on\u00a0Saturday, July 18<\/strong>, and faces charges of\u00a0aggravated battery on a pregnant victim<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0domestic intent threat to do violence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n During a first appearance hearing on\u00a0Sunday, July 19<\/strong>, a judge ordered Mason to have\u00a0no contact with the alleged victim<\/strong>. Court records indicate the alleged victim was present and testified during the hearing.<\/p>\n The court granted Mason a\u00a0$1,000 bond<\/strong>\u00a0on the aggravated battery charge, while he was\u00a0released on his own recognizance<\/strong>\u00a0for the domestic threat charge.<\/p>\n As of Sunday, authorities had not publicly released details surrounding the alleged incident. The Palm Beach County Clerk of Courts had not made the arrest affidavit or probable cause information available, and additional information from the Palm Beach County Sheriff\u2019s Office was still pending.<\/p>\n This is not Mason\u2019s first encounter with law enforcement in Palm Beach County.<\/p>\n In\u00a0January 2017<\/strong>, Mason was arrested in connection with a\u00a0July 27, 2016<\/strong>, incident in which authorities said he fled from a Palm Beach County Sheriff\u2019s Office deputy while operating an ATV in Lake Worth Beach.<\/p>\n That case concluded on\u00a0February 27, 2018<\/strong>, when Mason pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of\u00a0resisting arrest<\/strong>. He was sentenced to\u00a012 months of probation<\/strong>, received credit for\u00a0two days served in county jail<\/strong>, and was ordered to complete\u00a075 hours of community service<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Mason enjoyed a standout collegiate career at\u00a0Auburn University<\/strong>, where he developed into a star running back before reaching the NFL. While his football accomplishments earned him recognition on the field, his latest arrest now places the former professional athlete back in the headlines for legal reasons.<\/p>\n The current case remains active, and no additional details have been released as the investigation continues.
