Ede Dafinone and a former\u00a0 Secretary to Delta State Government, Mr Patrick Ukah, were not on board its train which derailed on the Warri\u2013Itakpe corridor on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The Managing Director of the NRC, Kayode Opeifa, made the clarification\u00a0 in a statement on Tuesday in Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the incident, which occurred near Agbor in Delta, claimed four lives.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Opeifa said that earlier information suggesting that Dafinone and Ukah were\u00a0 on board the train was incorrect.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe NRC, however, commended both individuals for their significant role in mobilising first responders and emergency personnel who participated in the rescue operations following the incident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe corporation expresses regret over the error and any embarrassment it may have caused, while appreciating their swift and selfless support during the rescue efforts,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>NAN reports that a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Mnistry of Transport,\u00a0 Mr Funsho Adebiyi, on Tuesday morning had included Dafinone and Ukah among the 482 people on board the train. <\/p>\n<p>NAN<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_76\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/newsinvestigatorsng.com\/author\/editor\/\" title=\"Editor\"><img alt=\"Editor\" src=\"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/9ab67ce46302815e0bee10d2e2c9f0efe1fd682b50eb2343df707ecf7c5cb681?s=117&#038;d=mm&#038;r=g\"  height=\"117\" width=\"117\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/newsinvestigatorsng.com\/dafinone-former-ssg-not-aboard-derailed-train-nrc-clarifies\/\" class=\"button purchase\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Read More<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News Investigators\/ Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has clarified that Sen.
