Venezia have stepped up their efforts to sign Nigerian and Sevilla striker Akor Adams, who could be heading to Italy in the coming days, Soccernet.ng<\/a> reports<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The Serie A newcomers sent sporting director Filippo Antonelli to Spain for face-to-face talks with Sevilla over a deal for Adams, according to transfer insider Gianluca di Marzio<\/a>. If the deal is sealed it could become the biggest transfer in the Italian club’s history.<\/p>\n Antonelli arrived in Seville on Thursday morning for scheduled discussions with Sevilla’s management as Venezia try to reach an agreement for the 26-year-old Super Eagles striker. The meeting comes after weeks of negotiations between both clubs and shows that the newly promoted Serie A side are determined to land their top transfer target before the new season begins.<\/p>\n Adams joined Sevilla from French club Montpellier in January 2025 and enjoyed a strong first full campaign in Spain. During the 2025-26 season, he made 32 appearances in all competitions and scored 10 goals, finishing as Sevilla’s leading scorer in La Liga despite the club’s difficult campaign.<\/p>\n Venezia have already submitted an improved offer worth \u20ac12 million, but Sevilla are still holding out for around \u20ac15 million. However, behind the scenes, discussions continued as Venezia refused to abandon their pursuit of the powerful striker.<\/p>\n The biggest breakthrough came at the start of July when Venezia reportedly reached an agreement<\/a> on personal terms with Adams. The proposed contract would keep the Nigerian at the club until June 2030, giving Venezia confidence to return to Sevilla with an improved financial package.<\/p>\n Sevilla’s position also changed in recent days. The Spanish club are under pressure to improve their finances and comply with La Liga’s strict financial regulations.
