\n\tCara Delevingne opens up about the deeply personal journey behind her music. She talks about sobriety, mental health, vulnerability and why she waited until now to share this side of herself with the world. The star reflects on turning pain into art, finding connection through music and creating an album that felt fully honest. She also discusses songwriting, her creative process, collaborators, live performance nerves and the artists who have inspired her most.<\/p>\n

\n\tCara Delevingne: I didn\u2019t wanna do this album unless I felt like I was metaphorically exposing my innards. For some people, I think it might be a bit of a shock that I\u2019m doing music, but it is something I\u2019ve done since I was a kid.<\/p>\n

\n\tI would say so. I\u2019m excited, though. I\u2019m excited to meet you.<\/p>\n

\n\tNo, excited to meet you and hang out.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n\tAnd I wanna just start off by saying I didn\u2019t know you were doing this interview, by the way, and I\u2019m really glad it\u2019s you.<\/p>\n

\n\tWell, I love to get to meet new people for the first time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n\tYou can tell that when you do your interviews. And it was really nice.<\/p>\n

\n\tThank you. Yeah. Well, let me start by asking the question that everybody\u2019s gonna wanna know, OK?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n\tWhat is that?<\/p>\n

\n\tWhat\u2019s the catalyst for this moment? Why did you decide this was the time you wanted to release this?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n\tThe catalyst for me was, it wasn\u2019t about if, it was about when. Some things you just can\u2019t control. There was a point in which I\u2019m not someone that prays a lot, but I was praying every day to make something powerful, beautiful, creative out of the pain I was going through at the time. This was a period of time where I was trying to get sober. And for some people, I think it might be a bit of a shock that I\u2019m doing music, but it is something I\u2019ve done since I was a kid. But it\u2019s been something really personal for me, quite sacred. Something that I was always really shy of because I just thought everyone else was so good, and it was something that I used as therapy for myself.<\/p>\n
