Hailee Steinfeld <\/b><\/a>is opening up her \u201cvulnerable\u201d new normal after welcoming her first baby with husband Josh Allen<\/b>.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know how some weeks feel beautifully full, others strangely slow?\u201d Steinfeld, 29, wrote in the Friday, May 15, edition of her \u201cBeau Society\u201d newsletter<\/span><\/a>. \u201cWell, somehow, these past few have managed to be both.\u201d<\/p>\n

Steinfeld, who announced last month<\/span><\/a> that she recently gave birth to the couple\u2019s daughter, has since been navigating postpartum highs and lows.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou guys always ask me what I\u2019m reading, and currently it\u2019s The First 40 Days<\/i>,\u201d she wrote on Friday, revealing Ayo Edebiri <\/b>sent her a postpartum care basket after they presented together at the 2026 Golden Globes in January. \u201cI sent her a rambling voice note the other day to let her know how often I\u2019ve been reaching into her postpartum emergency kit \u2014 daily!\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Steinfeld, \u201cevery word\u201d in Heng Ou<\/b>, Amely Greeven<\/b> and Marisa Belger<\/b>\u2019s book on motherhood and postpartum recovery has already \u201cresonated\u201d with the actress\u2019 own experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a paragraph early on that talks about how even forty days after giving birth, you\u2019re still in such a vulnerable state,\u201d she wrote in her newsletter. \u201cPeople understand that about your new baby, but they don\u2019t understand that about you, the mom.\u201d<\/p>\n

Steinfeld continued, \u201cI\u2019m still in this early period and need to remember to be super gentle with myself in every way \u2014 physically, mentally, nutritionally, spiritually, all of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amid her postpartum experience, Steinfeld has shifted her usual fitness regimen.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy body has gone through a lot of change recently, so I\u2019m taking it slow while I figure out what my workout routine<\/span><\/a> will look like moving forward,\u201d the Sinners <\/i>actress explained. \u201cBut any time the weather is nice enough to get outside, I\u2019ll get out for a quick walk. If that\u2019s not an option, I\u2019m on the treadmill, or the stairmaster \u2014 which I\u2019m really into right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Steinfeld has also followed both The First 40 Days <\/i>and her doula\u2019s respective advice about postpartum nutrition.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn general, [my doula] advised me to stick to warm foods during my postpartum recovery to help digestion and boost nutrient absorption, a philosophy that stems from Ayurveda,\u201d Steinfeld said. \u201cKnowing this, my mom made me this amazing albondigas soup the other day. It\u2019s one of those rare soups that looks as good as it tastes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Steinfeld and Allen, 29, have been together since 2023, getting married two years later.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
