Confidence is growing within the facility for the New Orleans Saints, and veteran defensive tackle Davon Godchaux made that clear recently at his annual youth football camp.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel good, feeling the best shape I\u2019ve been in. Feel really good. Exciting season to come. A second-year quarterback, Tyler Shough, and also got a guy who started behind him, which is Spencer Rattler. So, I feel like we got two monsters at the quarterback position. Defense was top 10 last year. Excited to have a better defense this year. I feel like we was top 10 last year. We still didn\u2019t really play our best defense. So excited for that. Healthy O-line. Got a lot of weapons. First-round draft pick at receiver. So I\u2019m excited about it. Got some good things going.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Godchaux\u2019s optimism is focused on the entire roster, emphasizing the excitement surrounding the Saints quarterback situation with Shough opening the season as the clear cut starter, while also pointing to a defense that finished among the NFL\u2019s top units in 2025 despite leaving plenty room for improvement.<\/p>\n

As the Saints continue their offseason program, Godchaux believes the pieces are in place for New Orleans to exceed expectations in 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
