FX has officially handed out a series order for its \u201cVery Young Frankenstein\u201d project that serves as a prequel to the Mel Brooks film classic.<\/p>\n

A pilot order was given back in September, and they must\u2019ve liked what they saw because a full series is now coming that will screen on both FX and Hulu. Details on the story are under wraps.<\/p>\n

The show\u2019s cast includes Zach Galifianakis (\u201cThe Hangover\u201d), Dolly Wells (\u201cInside Man\u201d), Spencer House (\u201cTell Me Lies\u201d), Nikki Crawford (\u201cCruel Intentions\u201d) and Kumail Nanjiani (\u201cSilicon Valley\u201d) and Cary Elwes (\u201cPrincess Bride\u201d) as the President of the United States.<\/p>\n

Stefani Robinson pens and executive produces the series along with Taika Waititi and Garrett Basch. All three are the team behind FX\u2019s acclaimed \u201cWhat We Do in the Shadows\u201d series while Robinson has also worked on FX\u2019s \u201cFargo\u201d and \u201cAtlanta\u201d.<\/p>\n

The original film remains one of Brooks\u2019 signature works, a parody of\/homage to classic monster movies. Gene Wilder, Cloris Leachman, Madeline Kahn, Marty Feldman, Kenneth Mars, Teri Garr and Peter Boyle starred.<\/p>\n

Brooks himself, as well as Kevin Salter and Michael Gruskoff, will also executive produce for 20th Television.<\/p>\n
