Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Fabian H\u00fcrzeler has shared his thoughts on the arrival of Nigerian youngster Zadok Yohanna at the club,\u00a0Soccernet.ng<\/u><\/a>\u00a0reports.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Seagulls completed the signing of the highly rated teenager from Swedish side AIK on Saturday, beating competition from fellow Premier League clubs\u00a0Newcastle United<\/u><\/a>, Chelsea and Manchester City. French side Rennes and Spanish giants Real Madrid were also reportedly interested in securing his signature.<\/p>\n

<\/figure>\n

Yohanna only moved abroad from Ikon Allah Academy around a year ago, but\u00a0he has enjoyed a\u00a0rapid rise\u00a0and has now earned a move to one of the top football leagues in the world after\u00a0registering nine goal contributions in 12 appearances for AIK in 2026.<\/p>\n

After completing the transfer on Saturday, Yohanna met with H\u00fcrzeler, who offered him some advice ahead of the next stage of his career.<\/p>\n

Super Eagles invitee Zadok\u00a0Yohanna becomes Brighton’s first signing of the summer as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the 2026\u201327 season, during which the Seagulls will also compete in the UEFA Conference League.<\/p>\n

The youngster joins the growing list of Nigerians in the Premier League, alongside players\u00a0the likes of\u00a0Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi, and will be hoping to make an immediate impact at the Amex Stadium.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the club’s newest signing, Brighton\u00a0boss\u00a0Fabian H\u00fcrzeler expressed his excitement and highlighted the qualities that attracted the\u00a0club to the Nigerian youngster.<\/p>\n

Yohanna becomes the sixth Nigerian player in Brighton’s history\u00a0and will be looking to impress\u00a0during the club\u2019s pre-season preparations next month, which could hand him a regular\u00a0place in H\u00fcrzeler’s plans ahead of the new campaign.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
