\n\tAnna Faris<\/a>\u2018 iconic role as Cindy in the horror parody feature film series Scary Movie<\/a><\/em> almost went to another actress, revealed writer, producer and star Marlon Wayans<\/a>.<\/p>\n \n\tIn a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight<\/a><\/em>, Faris asked Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans<\/a> if there was \u201cever a celebrity that desperately wanted to be in a\u00a0Scary Movie<\/em>, but you had to hit them with a hard no?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cMelissa Joan Hart<\/a>. She was supposed to play Anna\u2019s part,\u201d Marlon Wayans said, as both Faris and his brother reacted in disbelief.<\/p>\n \n\tThe Him<\/em> star explained it was the duo\u2019s older brother,\u00a0Keenen Ivory Wayans, the director of the inaugural entry in 2000 and one of the co-architects of the franchise, who pushed for Faris to get the role after seeing her audition.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cKeenan was like, \u2018I saw this young lady Anna Faris, and it really feels like that\u2019s our Cindy,\u2019\u201d Marlon Wayans recalled. <\/p>\n \n\tHe continued, \u201cSo you took Melissa Joan Hart\u2019s job! Good job, Anna. Way to go. Taking food out of another white lady\u2019s mouth,\u201d joking that the casting reversal exemplified \u201cwhite on white crime.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThis weekend, the box office take for Scary Movie 6<\/em> totaled $56 million<\/a>, the best ever opening in the franchise\u2019s 26-year history. The Paramount-Miramax flick is the latest followup since 2013\u2019s Scary Movie 5<\/em>, spoofing recent horror fare like Sinners, The Substance <\/em>and Jordan Peele\u2019s Nope <\/em>and Get Out.<\/em><\/p>\n \n\tAlongside Faris and the Wayans, Regina Hall, Lochlyn Monroe, Dave Sheridan and Jon Abrahams all returned to star in the film.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t\tWatch on Deadline\t\t<\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
