Megan Thee Stallion<\/a> has announced that she will depart the Broadway production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical <\/em>ahead of schedule.<\/a><\/p>\n

The 31-year-old rapper\u2019s final show will now be this Friday, May 1.<\/p>\n

In a statement to The Independent<\/em>, she said: \u201cUnfortunately, my last performance on Moulin Rouge! The Musical<\/em> will be May 1. It\u2019s been such an honor to be part of Moulin Rouge<\/em> and I\u2019ve met so many amazing people in this theater! <\/p>\n

\u201cY\u2019all work so hard and I have so much respect for the dedication, the stamina, the work ethic, the time and the effort y\u2019all put into the work! Every single person at the Moulin Rouge<\/em> has inspired me to go harder as an entertainer. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so grateful for the cast and crew that made this experience so meaningful. Y\u2019all are really some of the kindest human beings I\u2019ve ever met! To all the Hotties that showed up or planned to attend, thank you for supporting me during this incredible journey!\u201d<\/p>\n

The news comes days after Megan Thee Stallion broke down in tears on stage hours after announcing her split from boyfriend Klay Thompson.<\/a><\/p>\n

On Saturday (25 April), the \u201cWAP\u201d rapper posted on Instagram Stories, where she alleged that basketball player Thompson, 36, had cheated on her<\/a>. He has not yet responded to the allegations.<\/p>\n

In a statement to The Independent<\/em>, Megan then confirmed that she and Thompson had split after less than a year of dating.<\/p>\n

Just hours after announcing their split, Megan was back on stage, performing in the role of ringmaster Zidler in the hit Broadway<\/a> musical. Megan joined the Tony-winning production in late March for an eight-week stint.<\/p>\n

In a clip shared on TikTok<\/a>, the musician could be seen turning away from the audience to wipe away her tears during the curtain call, with the show\u2019s performers standing behind her and cheering her on.<\/p>\n

Megan \u2013 whose full name is Megan Pete \u2013 gathered herself, wiping her tears from her hands before taking a bow.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the second blow Megan has faced during her run in the show, after she was rushed to hospital<\/a> mid-way through a performance in late March.<\/p>\n

Megan subsequently cancelled two shows and wrote on social media that it had been \u201ca real wake-up call for me\u201d. \u201cI\u2019ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The rapper, who returned to the stage after two shows, first hinted at her split from Dallas Mavericks player Thompson on Saturday, when she shared a text-only post to Instagram claiming that he had been unfaithful.<\/p>\n

\u201cCheating, had me around your whole family playing house\u2026got \u2018cold feet,\u2019\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cHolding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don\u2019t know if you can be \u2018monogamous\u2019??? B**** I need a REAL break after this one\u2026bye y\u2019all.\u201d<\/p>\n

The split was then confirmed in a statement to The Independent<\/em>, with Megan saying: \u201cI\u2019ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there\u2019s no real path forward. I\u2019m taking this time to prioritise myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair began dating in spring 2025 and confirmed their relationship at a red carpet event in July 2025. Speaking at the time, Megan called the NBA star \u201cthe nicest person I\u2019ve ever met in my life\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
