Canada<\/a>\u2019s 26-player roster for the 2026\u00a0FIFA World Cup<\/a> is set.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n Eight players compete in MLS for five different MLS clubs, making up 31% of head coach Jesse Marsch’s team.<\/p>\n Of the 26 players named, another 10<\/a> (38%) are either MLS homegrown products or developed in the league.<\/p>\n Combined, those 18 players account for 69% of the CanMNT roster<\/a>.<\/p>\n The 2026 World Cup has expanded from the usual 32 nations to 48 total. If healthy, he is a locked-in starter.\u00a0<\/p>\n Eust\u00e1quio is on loan with LAFC through June from Portuguese powerhouse FC Porto. The deal includes a purchase option.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n Laryea<\/a>‘s performances for Canada last year led Marsch to call the Toronto FC<\/a> veteran “our best player overall.”<\/a> That all but secured Laryea’s second World Cup trip.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n The fullback started two of Canada’s three group stage games in 2022 and hopes to remain a key contributor this summer.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n Another returning member of Canada’s 2022 World Cup squad,\u00a0Osorio<\/a> provides a reliable presence in midfield and plenty of experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n Now in his 14th season with Toronto FC, he is Canada’s second all-time appearances leader with 90 caps.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n After missing the start of the 2026 season due to injury, Shaffelburg<\/a> recently returned to action for LAFC.<\/p>\n Shaffelburg’s speed and direct play make him an attractive option in attack, as does his proven success on the international stage.<\/p>\n The former Nashville SC<\/a> standout was Canada’s breakout star during their semifinal run at Copa Am\u00e9rica 2024.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n After backing up Milan Borjan at the 2022 World Cup, St. Clair is eying Canada’s No. 1 goalkeeper job at this summer’s tournament.\u00a0<\/p>\n He is in his first season with Inter Miami CF<\/a> after winning 2025 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year honors at Minnesota United FC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n Waterman<\/a> offers Canada a reliable defensive option, as he did during the 2022 World Cup.<\/p>\nCanada: Group B schedule<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n
