Canada<\/a> head coach Jesse Marsch has named his 26-man roster for the 2026 FIFA World Cup<\/a>, calling up eight MLS players<\/a> for the momentous tournament on home soil.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n MLS call-ups are bolded above.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n \u2014 Major League Soccer (@MLS) May 30, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote><\/div>\n The 2026 World Cup has expanded from the usual 32 nations to 48 total. The top two teams advance from each group, and the top eight third-place finishers also make the knockout phase (Round of 32).<\/p>\n The tournament, which is co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada, spans from June 11 to July 19.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n Maxime Cr\u00e9peau<\/a> (Orlando<\/a>) and Dayne St. Clair<\/a> (Miami<\/a>) are vying for the starting goalkeeper job.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n Defenders Richie Laryea<\/a> (Toronto<\/a>) and Joel Waterman<\/a> (Chicago<\/a>) will compete at their second World Cup, as will midfielder Jonathan Osorio<\/a> (Toronto).<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n LAFC<\/a> are the most represented club, with midfielder Mathieu Choini\u00e8re<\/a>, midfielder Stephen Eust\u00e1quio<\/a> and winger Jacob Shaffelburg<\/a> all making the roster. Eust\u00e1quio is on loan from Portuguese powerhouse FC Porto.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n The squad features 10 MLS alums<\/a>, highlighted by\u00a0Vancouver Whitecaps<\/a> homegrown product and Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies. He is recovering from injury, as is former Colorado Rapids<\/a> center back Mo\u00efse Bombito.<\/p>\n Center back Derek Cornelius previously featured for Vancouver, and defender Alistair Johnston began his career across Nashville SC<\/a> and CF Montr\u00e9al<\/a>.<\/p>\n Midfielders Isma\u00ebl Kon\u00e9 and Nathan Saliba are Montr\u00e9al products, while wingers Ali Ahmed (Vancouver) and Tajon Buchanan (New England<\/a>) rose to prominence in MLS.<\/p>\n At striker, Cyle Larin (Orlando) and Tani Oluwaseyi (Minnesota<\/a>) made their names in MLS before heading to Europe.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n This will be the CanMNT’s third World Cup appearance and first under Marsch.<\/p>\n The former MLS midfielder and head coach was appointed<\/a> in May 2024; he received a long-term extension<\/a> ahead of the tournament.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n Canada are chasing their first World Cup win or draw, having gone three-and-out during their 1986 and 2022 appearances.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n <\/main><\/p>\n<\/div>\nGOALKEEPERS (3)<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n
