New England Patriots<\/a> wideout Stefon Diggs was found not guilty of allegedly assaulting his former chef, Jamila \u201cMila\u201d Adams.<\/p>\nAdams said that Diggs smacked her across the face and then tried to choke her.<\/p>\n
Diggs\u2019 lawyer argued to the jury that it did not take place, and later showed a video of Adams dancing and smiling a few days after the incident.<\/p>\n
During cross-examination, he exposed that Diggs’ relationship with his personal chef went beyond professional. They were in a sexual relationship, which Adams called \u201ccomplicated.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Diggs hired Adams back in February of 2025.<\/p>\n
\u00a0A member of his defense team, Mitchell Shuster, said the case was “an attempt to extract money.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cDomestic violence is a very, very serious issue in this country, and it\u2019s disconcerting when people use it as a sword and manufacture claims in an attempt to extract money,” Shuster said. “I believe the jury saw through that today, and we are very, very pleased with this result.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m thankful for someone like Stefon Diggs who insisted that he would get his day in court so that his truth could be heard \u2013 and it was heard. No assault ever occurred. \u2026 People have to stop targeting professional athletes and trying to extract money,\u201d he concluded.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Diggs had no comment after the verdict was announced\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
