Madhya Pradesh pilots AI radiology in hospitals<\/strong><\/p>\n

The state government of Madhya Pradesh in central India has launched a pilot of AI-enabled radiology tools across 10 district hospitals under a memorandum of understanding with Canadian tech company, mlHealth360.<\/p>\n

The programme will deploy mlHealth360’s cloud-based AI platform to analyse and triage abnormalities in CT scans and generate standardised radiology reports, integrating with existing PACS and RIS to support current clinical workflows and faster decision-making. It is expected to assist with early diagnosis of critical conditions such as stroke, haemorrhage, trauma, and tumours, as well as enable faster medical response by automatically prioritising urgent cases.<\/p>\n

The phased rollout will start with site readiness assessments and system integration, followed by clinician training and full deployment. The pilot will inform a potential statewide expansion.<\/p>\n

\n

Telangana rolls out AI lung screening programme<\/strong><\/p>\n

The state government of Telangana in south-central India has started an AI-enabled lung cancer screening programme across public healthcare facilities in partnership with AstraZeneca Pharma India.<\/p>\n

Based on a media release, the programme will integrate Qure.ai’s chest X-ray analysis software into routine workflows to detect pulmonary nodules and other lung conditions, triage high-risk patients, and support follow-up or confirmatory diagnosis across 20 facilities in urban and rural areas.<\/p>\n

The launch of this statewide lung cancer screening programme comes as Telangana’s cancer burden is projected to rise to 47,314 by 2030 from 46,762 projected new cases this year, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research\u2013National Centre for Disease Informatics and Research.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Similar AI-based screening models have already been implemented in other Indian states, including Goa, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, as part of AstraZeneca Pharma India’s broader project to expand early cancer detection in public health systems.\u00a0<\/p>\n

AIIMS Delhi launches VR training centre<\/strong><\/p>\n

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has launched a virtual reality training centre at its SET (Skills, e-Learning, Telemedicine) Facility in New Delhi.<\/p>\n

The centre, set up in collaboration with local startup MediSim VR, will be used to “evaluate immersive learning and simulation approaches through structured research,” said the SET Facility in a LinkedIn announcement. It has plans to integrate VR into medical and nursing curricula.<\/p>\n

The initiative is part of AIIMS’s broader push to build an evidence-driven training ecosystem for healthcare professionals, focusing on competency-based training, standardisation, and improved learning outcomes.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
