Screenshot by That&#8217;s<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The service, which commenced on March 29, 2026, operates using the airline\u2019s Airbus A320neo aircraft and adds Shanghai to IndiGo\u2019s growing international network.<\/p>\n<p>The new route builds on the airline\u2019s recent expansion in the Chinese mainland, including the resumption of flights between Kolkata and Guangzhou and the launch of services from Delhi.<\/p>\n<p>With Shanghai now included, IndiGo operates a total of 21 weekly flights to the Chinese mainland across its network.<\/p>\n<p>The airline said the route is expected to support growing demand for both business and leisure travel, as well as trade links between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>Passengers from multiple Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Pune, Jaipur and Bhubaneswar, can connect to Shanghai via Kolkata.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShanghai is one of the world\u2019s leading financial and commercial centres, and an important gateway for global trade,\u201d said Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo.<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cThis new route will facilitate increased business as well as leisure travel opportunities and enable greater cultural and economic exchange between the two countries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The airline also continues to offer a range of add-on services, including pre-booked meals, seat selection options and flexible fare products designed to enhance the passenger experience.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><em>[Cover image provided to That&#8217;s by IndiGo]<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatsmags.com\/china\/post\/40452\/indigo-launches-daily-kolkata-shanghai-flights\" class=\"button purchase\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Read More<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IndiGo has launched a new daily non-stop service between Kolkata and Shanghai, marking a further expansion of air connectivity between India and China.
