They also struggled domestically despite expectations of challenging for the league title\u00a0and have since appointed\u00a0Rabah Bensafi as interim coach.<\/p>\n<p>The Algerian club\u00a0were initially interested in Tunisian coach Mouine Chaabani, but Chelle has now emerged as the leading candidate in recent days,\u00a0with the club monitoring his contract situation\u00a0with Nigeria. They have also been impressed by the transformation he brought to the Super Eagles and believe he could help restore JS Kabylie to the top of Algerian football.<\/p>\n<p>The 48-year-old\u00a0also has experience in the Algerian top-flight league, where he previously managed MC Oran before taking over the Super Eagles job.
