President Donald Trump is calling for Disney to fire Jimmy Kimmel. On Thursday, Kimmel joked that Melania Trump had looked like an \u201cexpectant widow\u201d in a skit<\/a> about the upcoming White House Correspondents\u2019 Dinner. The skit aired days before an armed gunman made an assassination attempt<\/a> at the event, which President Trump and Melania Trump attended, on Saturday. They and other administration officials were evacuated from the ballroom.<\/p>\n

Trump \u2014 who has faced significant speculation<\/a> over his health in recent months \u2014 interpreted the comment as an incitement to attack him. \u201cI appreciate that so many people are incensed by Kimmel\u2019s despicable call to violence, and normally would not be responsive to anything that he said but, this is something far beyond the pale,\u201d Trump wrote on Truth Social<\/a>. \u201cJimmy Kimmel should be immediately fired by Disney and ABC.\u201d<\/p>\n

Melania Trump posted on X<\/a> about Kimmel Monday morning. \u201cEnough is enough. It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC\u2019s leadership enable Kimmel\u2019s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.\u201d<\/p>\n

Disney didn\u2019t immediately respond to a request for comment. The company suspended Kimmel in September<\/a> after he made a comment about the alleged shooter of Charlie Kirk following pressure from FCC Chairman Brendan Carr. He was reinstated shortly after<\/a>.<\/p>\n
