Photo Credit: UMG<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Music <strong>Universal Music Group\u2019s betting big on jazz with a slate of reissues as well as the official debut of an Everything Jazz digital platform and online store. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Specifically part of the major\u2019s Global Classics &#038; Jazz division, the newly expanded Everything Jazz counts longtime Universal Music higher-up Tina Poyser as its vice president.<\/p>\n<p>Developed \u201cin partnership\u201d with UMG subsidiaries including Blue Note, Verve, and Impulse!, Everything Jazz now features a webstore offering physical releases and merch from new talent and \u201ccultural icons\u201d alike.<\/p>\n<p>Those products include a vinyl edition of Miles Davis\u2019 <em>Birth of the Cool <\/em>compilation (which ships with a studio-session lithograph print of the jazz mainstay \u2013 \u201conly available at Everything Jazz\u201d) and a cassette version of John Coltrane\u2019s <em>A Love Supreme<\/em> (which \u201creturns to cassette for the first time in 40 years\u201d), to name a couple.<\/p>\n<p>Then there\u2019s a collection of signed albums from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DXFAtmRFGPv\/?img_index=1\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow external noopener noreferrer\">contemporary<\/a> professionals, a selection of exclusive merch-vinyl bundles, an \u201cexclusives and coloured vinyl\u201d section, a Verve Vault hub, and \u2013 well, you get the idea.<\/p>\n<p>Back to the initially mentioned reissues, following the early 2025 rollout of the Verve Record Club \u201cbespoke vinyl subscription for jazz enthusiasts,\u201d the namesake label group today unveiled a well-populated Verve Vault release schedule covering the remainder of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Without rattling off each of these planned \u201cdefinitive, all-analog 180-gram vinyl pressings\u201d here, May is expected to bring Marcos Valle\u2019s <em>Samba \u201968<\/em>, with Cal Tjader\u2019s <em>The Prophet <\/em>teed up for June, <em>The Individualism of Gil Evans <\/em>confirmed as one of three July reissues, and George Benson\u2019s <em>Giblet Gravy <\/em>poised to become available in August.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Shifting from the online store to the \u201cdigital platform\u201d side, Everything Jazz also houses (Re)Discover Jazz, billed as a free 20-lesson \u201conline course in jazz music and culture.\u201d <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Unsurprisingly, said course isn\u2019t subtle about encouraging learners to purchase a product or three. But overall, there appears to be a good bit of worthwhile information in and depth to the resource.<\/p>\n<p>Enter the \u201ctrusted editorial\u201d component of Everything Jazz. Though it didn\u2019t take very long for Warner Music to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalmusicnews.com\/2024\/04\/24\/warner-music-sells-uproxx-hiphopdx-dime-magazine\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"follow\">offload<\/a> Uproxx, HipHopDX, and Dime Magazine under CEO Robert Kyncl, UMG\u2019s evidently employing a different approach by equipping Everything Jazz with \u201ca dedicated team of curators, writers, editors, and producers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That team\u2019s conducting interviews, penning articles (\u201cJazz and India,\u201d \u201cThe Making of Miles Davis\u2019 <em>Birth of the Cool<\/em>,\u201d etc.), and more.
