{"id":906779,"date":"2026-05-18T11:14:18","date_gmt":"2026-05-18T16:14:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2026\/05\/18\/ha-regularises-telehealth-scheme-for-bowel-condition\/"},"modified":"2026-05-18T11:14:18","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T16:14:18","slug":"ha-regularises-telehealth-scheme-for-bowel-condition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2026\/05\/18\/ha-regularises-telehealth-scheme-for-bowel-condition\/","title":{"rendered":"HA regularises telehealth scheme for bowel condition"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>\n\t\t\tThe Hospital Authority on Thursday announced it has regularised a Princess Margaret Hospital scheme that remotely monitors patients suffering from inflammatory stomach flu.<\/p>\n<p>\nPatients taking part in the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Smart Care Telehealth Programme are required to complete an e-survey that consists of up to six questions in the HA GO app every four weeks or when necessary.<\/p>\n<p>\nA survey score of under 3.6 means that a patient&#8217;s condition is well controlled, and those above that number means a patient needs medical care.<\/p>\n<p>\nNurses would regularly review the results and follow up individually as required. <\/p>\n<p>\nPatients needing care who are in a stable condition can choose to hold a telehealth meeting with doctors. <\/p>\n<p>\nThey can also choose whether to use a medication delivery service or pick up their pills in person.<\/p>\n<p>\nEdmund Wu, associate consultant for medicine and geriatrics at Princess Margaret Hospital said the scheme provides convenience to patients.<\/p>\n<p>\n&#8220;We have found that 92 percent of patients like this new smart care telehealth model and 81 percent of them appreciate the flexibility of the follow-up arrangement, including reducing follow-up frequency,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe scheme will discussed at the upcoming Hospital Authority Convention 2026 to be held from May 11 to 13.<\/p>\n<p><span my=\"my\"><i>Edited by Aaron Tam<\/i><\/span>\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p> Dion Antes <br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/news.rthk.hk\/rthk\/en\/component\/k2\/1853910-20260507.htm\" class=\"button purchase\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Read More<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Hospital Authority on Thursday announced it has regularised a Princess Margaret Hospital scheme that remotely monitors patients suffering from inflammatory stomach flu.
